Arrive early, leave late. That is what this CAHA weekend means for Lady Ducks players and families.  Why?  Well, simply said... "we have to plan on being in the final".  Well that's pretty much what happened this past weekend in San Jose at the CAHA Girls' MLK Tournament as 9 of 11 Lady Ducks teams made the final in their respective divisions, some of them playing  "up" to find the competition.

The Details

8u:  Nothing short of OUTSTANDING. CHAMPIONS AND FINALISTS!   BOTH LD 8u TEAMS lead the 5-team division.  8u-1 def. 8u-2 in the FINAL.

10u:  EVERY month this team gets better! Finished tied for 1st in Pool play. Lost a close final 2-0.  FINALISTS.

12aa: 33 goals for; 3 against!! Dominated all weekend. CHAMPIONS!

12aaa:  Brand new Goalie helps lead undefeated weekend! CHAMPIONS!

14aa:  Great prep weekend for Pacific Districts; playing other top 14AA teams. L14AA1 lost a tightly contested Final 1-0. FINALISTS!

14aaa:  Played 16aa division; Finished 1st in Pool play. Lost tightly contested Final to sister 16aa Lady Ducks!  FINALISTS

16aa:  Amazing goalie tandem help seal the deal!  Win very close 16aa final vs. 14aaa sisters!  CHAMPIONS!!

16aaa:  compete in 19AAA division.  Finished 1st in Pool play with 22GF and 2 GA!!  Penalty-ridden final but great weekend,  FINALISTS!

It is hard to put into words the pride I have in the effort and time commitment that these teams and players put forth - day in and day out - to learn, improve and play this game as a team at the highest level possible.  Hard work to be the best player you can be, helps you become the best member of a TEAM that you can be. Only a couple LD teams struggled but, learning to get better also includes setbacks and the determination to keep moving forward!

Congratulations to all LD teams on your sportsmanship, competitive spirit and support of each other in and around the rink, over the past weekend.
