Longtime Anaheim Jr. Ducks forward Dominique Petrie captained the U.S. Under-18 Women’s National Team to a silver medal in the recently completed U-18 Women’s World Championships.

Petrie, a 2001 birth year who is a freshman at Harvard, finished with three goals and eight points in five games.

Team USA went 4-0 before falling to Canada, 3-2, in overtime in the gold-medal game at Obihiro, Japan.

Petrie was assisted by Katy Knoll, and U-18 coach Maura Crowell lauded the pair.

"Both Dominique and Katy are valued members of our women's under-18 program," Crowell said. "They have experience succeeding at the highest level and, most importantly, both of them are respected by their teammates and the staff."

This marked the third year in a row Petrie had made the U.S. U-18 Women’s National Team. She was an assistant captain on last year’s team, which won its second consecutive gold medal.

Later in 2018, Petrie captained the U.S. U-18 Women’s Select Team at the Under-18 Series vs. Canada. That also marked her third consecutive year playing for the Select Team.

Petrie had four points in her first five NCAA games for Harvard.
