TAYLOR URCH COMMITS TO LAWRENCE UNIVERSITY VIKINGS NCAA DIVISION III HOCKEY PROGRAM IN APPLETON, WISCONSIN FOR 2018-19 SEASON

APPLETON, WISCONSIN – Taylor Urch of Anaheim, California has formally committed his intent to play hockey for the Lawrence University Vikings NCAA Division III program in Appleton, Wisconsin for the upcoming 2018-19 season.

Urch, a native of Orange County, California, played Junior A hockey the last two seasons for the Kirkland Lake Gold Miners of the Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL) in Kirkland Lake, Ontario, Canada and the Richmond Generals of the United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL) in Richmond, Virginia where he served as team captain. He racked up a total of 38 goals, 39 assists, 77 points, and 138 penalty minutes in 81 games played.

Taylor Urch has brought winning hockey to all of the teams he has played for. He carried both of his Junior A teams to the league playoffs and has won two California State Championships, a USA Hockey Pacific District AAA Championship, a High School League Championship for Villa Park High School, a U.S. National Skills Competition, and played in the U.S. Nationals twice.

Urch has been playing ice hockey since age 4, playing 11 seasons on the prestigious Anaheim Jr. Ducks and Orange County Hockey Club youth travel teams, as well as for the Villa Park High School Spartans.

"I am excited to come to Appleton, Wisconsin to attend Lawrence University and play NCAA Division III hockey for Coach Mike Szkodzinski and the Vikings," said Taylor Urch. "They have an excellent program and I look forward to helping the team bring the Division III Hockey Championship trophy to Lawrence next season."
