Defenseman Jonas Kemps, who played the 2023-24 season with the Jr. Ducks' 15U AAA team, has committed to Michigan State.

Kemps becomes the 80th player with ties to the Jr. Ducks to commit to a Division I program. Last spring, he became the first player to go directly from the Jr. Ducks to the prestigious U.S. National Team Development Program's Under-17 team.

Kemps recently helped the U17 team win the Vierumaki Cup in Finland. A 2008 birth year, he has played in 23 of the U17s' 30 USHL games so far and in 36 games overall. Kemps, who turns 17 in mid-January, has registered four assists.

He is scheduled to join the Spartans for the 2027-28 season.
