Fifteen players with ties to the Jr. Ducks, Lady Ducks and Anaheim Ducks High School Hockey League have been invited to the USA Hockey Player Development camps this summer.
The group includes goaltender Madisyn Ryan of the Lady Ducks 16U AAA team and five members of the Jr. Ducks 16U AAA team. Both teams qualified for April's USA Hockey Youth Nationals.
Ryan, 2006 birth year, will attend the Girls 16/17 camp on June 24-30 at Oxford, Ohio.
The Jr. Ducks 16Us selected include: forward Colin Frank, defensemen Brendan Dunphy, Tanner Henricks and Tyler McGowan, as well as goaltender Jack Kavetsky. They will be joined by former Jr. Ducks Trevor Connelly, who played for Tri-City in the United States Hockey League this past season, and Chase Stefanek.
They will attend the Boys 17 camp for 2006 birth years at Amherst, N.Y. The players will be vying for spots at next month's tryout camp for Team USA's Under-18 entry in the Hlinka Gretzky Cup tournament.
Henricks (St. Cloud State) and Connelly (Providence) already have made Division I college commitments.
Four players with ties to the Jr. Ducks advanced to the Boys 16 camp for 2007s, which will be held July 7-13 at Amherst. This includes forwards Rui Han, Hayden Russell and Max Silver as well as defenseman Clarke Nehmens.
A pair of former Jr. Ducks - forwards Brendan Russell and Zane Torre - will participate in the Boys 15 camp for 2008s at Amherst on July 15-20. They will be joined by Mateo Zoretic, who played for Santa Margarita Catholic High School this past season.
There were more than three dozen players each from the Jr. Ducks and the Lady Ducks selected to attend the Pacific District Hockey Development Camp in May at Summerlin, Nev.
