All 2011 and '12 birth years are welcome at this week's 10U skates being conducted by Jr. Ducks coach Bryan Allen at Great Park Ice.
The longtime NHL veteran will guide two skates ahead of A/BB/B tryouts on June 18-19.
They will be conducted:
Thursday, June 10, from 5:15-6:15 p.m.
Sunday, June 13, from 10:30 a.m.-noon
Bryan brings extensive hockey experience and a deep passion for developing young players to the Jr. Ducks staff. Not only is he a veteran of more than 700 NHL games, but he leads the Ducks' alumni chapter. He espouses a positive, supportive approach to teaching the game: "I am a big believer in progress over perfection. Develop, enhance skills and skating, and create good habits. ... Have fun!"
The A, B and BB programs are at the heart of the Jr. Ducks' efforts to grow hockey and add breadth and depth to their program. The coaches will provide a strong foundation that young players can build upon to further their enjoyment of the game as well as the opportunities within it.
Every player's path in the game is unique, but the Jr. Ducks - a USA Hockey Model Club Association - are dedicated to age-appropriate and age-specific skill development, in accordance with USA Hockey's American Development Model. This prepares players to be successful at whatever levels they attain in the sport, including the possibility of AA and AAA hockey within the club.
