Dear Jr. Ducks and Lady Ducks Players and Families,

As you know, the COVID-19 outbreak has impacted our programs and activities. We are currently following the Governor’s Shelter in Place order through April 19. Our number one priority is the health and safety of our players and their families.

Unfortunately, playoffs have been canceled and Select League and In-House programs have been suspended. As for tryouts, once we get information, we will pass it along.

We are all adjusting to this strange life without sports. Maybe some of us didn’t appreciate or realize what an impact sports plays in our everyday lives. Sports not only gives us physical and mental skills, it brings us a sense of community and belonging. Having to pause those connections is difficult on everyone.

I encourage you to reach out to each other online, over text or on the phone to share ideas for at home activities. Alex Kim and Craig Johnson will be offering free Zoom instruction sessions. Please contact them at jrduckshomeskills@gmail.com. They will have weekly sessions that will focus on skills to keep you in hockey shape while you are at home.

But the most important thing you can do to further your skills and level of play is to stay healthy. Stay home, wash your hands and follow health guidelines as they are given. Keeping well is the most important activity right now.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back as soon as possible, and we will post updates as we know more about the length of this hiatus. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We’ll get through this together.

Hope to see you soon,

Art Trottier
