All tryouts will be at THE RINKS -POWAY ICE

Please make sure to renew your players SCAHA and USA hockey membership for the 2024-25 season and bring both to tryouts. If your player is new to travel hockey please bring a copy of their birth certificate.

24-25 TRYOUT REGISTRATION

All Players MUST pre-register to tryout for a Team

TRYOUT INFORMATION

ONLINE PRE-REGISTRATION AND PAYMENT FOR TRYOUTS IS REQUIRED PRIOR TO ARRIVING AT THE RINK

  • The tryout fee of $30 per tryout  (10U, 12U, 14U & 16U) , $20 tryout fee for 8U will be paid online when you pre-register for tryouts
  • Tryout fees are non-refundable and non-transferable so please make sure that you will attend before your register
  • You will need to pre-register and pay online for each try-out session you attend. 

24-25 USA HOCKEY MEMBERSHIP #

2024-25 USA Hockey Membership is required to tryout.  2023-24 USA Hockey numbers are NOT valid. Please visit www.usahockeyregistration.com  if you need to register.  Please bring your 2024/25 USAH number to every try-out

2024-25 SCAHA SEASON PASS CODE

Required for ALL Jr Gulls SCAHA (A/BB/B) & CAHA Tier II (AA) Teams in Southern California. Please visit www.scaha.com to create your account and get your SCAHA Passcode. Please bring the SCAHA Registration confirmation email to every tryout.  This passcode will confirm to the tryout personnel that you are registered for 2024-25 USA Hockey and SCAHA season.

TRYOUT FEES

 $30 per skate for 10U, 12U, 14U & 16U

$20 per skate for 8U

Player should bring dark and light jersey plus a water bottle.

THE TRYOUT PROCESS:

  • Check-in at the tryout table, present the required documentation (see above), and pay your tryout fee
  • ​Receive your sticker to be placed on helmet. ​Proceed to locker room and be ready to get on the ice at the designated time for your tryout
  • Most tryouts will last about an hour. Upon completion of the tryout, proceed to the locker room and get dressed
  • ​Tryout results will be posted by your helmet number on a board at the rink shortly after the completion of the tryout. At that time, you will be instructed to do one of the following things:
    • Meet with the coach to sign up for the team​
    • Return to the next tryout for another look
    • ​You are excused to attend tryouts for other teams

WHAT HAPPENS IF I AM CHOSEN FOR A TEAM?

  • Immediately following the tryout, you will meet with the team representative at the area designated
  • With help from a team representative you will complete the Letter of Intent
  • Sizing for jerseys and warm-ups will take place at registration immediately following the tryouts
  • Financial arrangements for payment of registration and dues must be completed online within 24 hours of making the team
  • Once you sign a Letter of Intent you may not tryout for any other team (exceptions: SCAHA players may also be on a High School team, girls may roster on both a girls team and boys team as long as it is not in conflict with league rules)

BIRTH CERTIFICATES AND RESIDENCY DOCUMENTS

If you are a new player to SCAHA/CAHA, or are foreign born, you MAY be asked to provide a copy of your government issued birth certificate and/or US Visa documents to the club Registrar.  Please make sure that you bring these documents to tryouts in the event that you are picked for a team.
