WELCOME TO THE IRVINE ICE FOUNDATION

The Irvine ICE Foundation, consisting of the Anaheim Jr. Ducks and Lady Ducks and the San Diego Jr. Gulls and Lady Gulls, is a youth hockey organization dedicated to the development of our players at every skill level.

Over the past 20-plus years, our association has maintained its status as one of the premier hockey programs in Southern California by providing players with a positive atmosphere that encourages good sportsmanship, teamwork and, above all, an opportunity to enjoy their youth hockey experience. The fall 2020 addition of the Jr. Gulls, who have a rich 40-year history in San Diego County, further bolsters IIF's goal of providing more opportunities for young people to experience hockey at the grass-roots level in Southern California.

Our comprehensive program offers offers competitive teams for boys (ages 6 - 18) and girls (ages 6 - 19).

Our "A/B" teams offer a balance of skill development and competition in the Southern California Amateur Hockey Association League (SCAHA) as well as opportunities to attend local and regional tournaments.

Tier II "AA" players are offered skill development at a more complex level coupled with practice programs that are specifically designed for the advanced player.  Our AA teams participate in SCAHA, CAHA weekends as well as compete in regional and national tournaments.

Extending this strong foundation, our Tier I "AAA" teams gain the highest possible developmental and competitive learning experience by playing at state, regional and national levels.  At the top level, our AAA teams develop elite players who are capable of attaining their future hockey goals. Since 2014, more than 50 players who have skated for IIF teams have made NCAA Division I and III college commitments. In addition, three alumni have been selected in the NHL Entry Draft since 2018.

The Anaheim Lady Ducks and the San Diego Lady Gulls are committed to the growth of girl’s hockey in Southern California. The Lady Ducks are the leading girl’s hockey program not only in Southern California but all of the Western United States. They have a well-established reputation for advancing student-athletes: more than 120 Lady Ducks have gone on to play at the NCAA at Division I and III collegiate levels. The Lady Gulls are on an impressive trajectory of their own since their launch in 2016, growing to six teams in four seasons. The Lady Ducks and Lady Gulls have teams for all levels: beginner, intermediate and elite players ages 5 to 19 years old.

The Rinks, Jr. Ducks and Lady Ducks are recognized as Model Club Associations through USA Hockey and are dedicated to age-appropriate, age-specific skill development, in accordance with USA Hockey's American Development Model. Their selection marked the first time USA Hockey has so recognized three programs within one organization.

The Anaheim Ducks and the Rinks have helped California surge to the fastest growth rate of youth hockey in the United States for the past five years. Youth hockey participation in Southern California has grown 40 percent since 2015. Since the Ducks began their "Learn to Play" program in Orange County in 2011, youth hockey has expanded from 330 skaters to more than 4,600 annual participants (including expansion into San Diego). Since the program's debut, more than 15,500 skaters have been introduced to hockey (12,500 youth and 3,000 adults).
