Several players from the Junior Ducks participated in the 2017 USA Hockey National Festival Nominees Pacific District Select 15 (2002) Player Development Camp in San Jose May 4-7, 2017.
Ryan Johnson was invited to the US National Team Development Program (USNTDP) Tryout Camp, and therefore received a direct invitation to the 2017 USA Hockey National Player Development Camp. His team mates, Drake Usher and Sam Myers from 16U AAA were also chosen, as well as Tyler Badame from the Junior Ducks 14U AAA1 team and Tyler Shea from 15U AAA.
USA Hockey's National Player Development Camps provide the United States' top young hockey players with concentrated on- and off-ice training and coaching, as well as the opportunity to compete against their peers. Since their launch in 1977, the best and brightest aspiring American hockey stars have shared time together at USA Hockey's summer player development camps. Players are selected from a national pool of camps in USA Hockey districts and rosters are formed by camp staff prior to the teams assembling at their respective locations.
